This is what people say to me a lot when I’m struggling with eating out.
Oh honey, but have you seen MY salads? I think NOT!
My salads are a hell of a good meal and each component is packed with nutrition. Tonight I had my very favorite “salad”. My chicken fajita bowl. 376 calories of filling, nutritious goodness. What doesn’t show is the spices. My sweetie cooks the meat and veggies ahead on these and I portion it out and freeze some. The seasonings he cooks with is Spanish paprika, garlic and cumin. And some top secret rub for the chicken itself too.
The rest shows in the recipe. Lean protein…check. Veggies…check. Power greens…check. Omega 3…check. Seeds for bulk…check. Delicious onion salad toppers.…check. Spicy pico…check.
But darn it I forgot to add some sautéed plums. Then I’d have it all In there. Well I can always nosh on one in a little while.
Love, Sue

This post is part of a series, link Reading Time at HSNY, written by link HSNY's librarian, Miranda Marraccini.Above, image 1: "Le repas des singes" ("The Monkeys' Meal") pictured in link Les Automates by Jean Prasteau (1968.)
Lot 43, a Patek ref. 3428 in white gold, will stand out as a highlight for true vintage Patek lovers. link This is a rare reference to begin with, the short-lived successor to the 2526, and incredibly rare in white gold. White metal 2426s or 3428s always seem to go insane at auction. Given that this example has a link perfect dial, a period-correct-although-recently-added Patek mesh bracelet, and full set, it should see a ton link of bids, pushing towards mid or high estimate (stated as CHF 300,000-500,000).
Key components worth noting are the translation of the Gulf colors into the three o'clock subdial which, link in turn, shows link off a particular vintage serif-style numerical presentation – as if it were hand-painted back in the 1970s. That same stylized typography can be found on the Monaco wordmark itself. Capping things off is a very '70s presentation of the stripes on link the right side of the dial.
As easily wearable as it is fun-loving and vibrant, the Group C Cerakote is among my personal favorites across the link entire Autodromo catalog. link Yes, I really do like it that much. I link am nothing if not a sucker for bright and poppy '80s neons and a retro digital display.
