Finally, you have what I'm link calling the "third" series of ref. 2497: the Wenger case and second-series dial. By this point, this should be relatively self-explanatory. But as a recap: shorter lugs, a more link domed caseback, link convex bezel, dauphine hands, and four-facet baton hour markers. But that's not all for the ref. 2497.
Almost concurrently with this auction, at the Geneva Watch Auction: XI, Phillips brought this very reference home at CHF 72,500. Within what appears to have been link one day's time, Antiquorum clocked in the world record at CHF 103,750 with this tropical example. Now, this may seem like a link vast expanse in terms of the difference between the results of these two watches, but this particular Red 1680 has some unique properties which add link to its record-setting price tag.
The movie has other watches, too. The big bad, Ansel Argon, played by link Michael Peña, wears an Urwerk (the UR100 black). Jesse Williams' character, Sean Irons, wears a Maurice de Mauriac (Chrono Modern Diver link Time Traveller), Kezii Curtis' Big Mac wears a G-Shock GA900 4A, and the character of Maya (played link by Momona Tamada) wears a military-style Timex which fits her "military brat" character. It's a horological party in this one.
