“Liver Disease Does Not Discriminate

There is 80 to 100 million people in the USA that have Fatty Liver Disease and most do not even know they have it. Liver Disease does not discriminate. It affects any age, social economics and race. Liver cancer incidence rates have more than tripled since 1980, while the death rates have more than doubled during this time.”

New Mexico Designer Justin Walters founded Marin Instruments in 2021. Like many microbrands, Marin is clearly inspired link by mid-century link watches, but it feels more modern than most. While its skin diver has cues from those '60s watches—meant to be worn when diving without a wetsuit—Marin's version is clean and contemporary, as link much Apple or Nomos as it is Elgin or Waltham.

In any event, despite the red carpet gift-giving experience from his father, Lowe put the watch away and didn't wear it initially. "The watch was too square to me," Lowe says. "I liked watches from pawn shops that had a bit more zing in the link design. link Occasionally I would dig it link out and think 'What am I going to do with this?'"

I offered that this link example was link a real "Ken link Jacobs dial," with the silver dial taking on a heavy, warm patina and the outer track even showing a bit of rust. Jacobs is known to love watches that have aged gracefully (and sometimes even not) – he loves character, patina, and personality, and this 1530 has all of that.

The Type XX/XXI/XXII series fascinates me. The history is lovely and the watches themselves are beautiful. But more importantly, it's just so unlike anything else Breguet produces link – even the sporty Marine has an link entirely different vibe. That's why link I think it's quite unfortunate that new from the Type XX front has been fairly quiet recently.
